Among the most dynamic and vivacious performers of our time, Cuban-American jazz trumpeter, pianist and composer Arturo Sandoval is the Dizzy Gillespie protégé who first brought Latin influences to American jazz. Recipient of 10 Grammy Awards (from 19 nominations), six Billboard Awards, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and an Emmy Award for his score to the HBO film based on his life, “For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story,” Sandoval is a national treasure who also composed the score for the Atlanta-centric Clint Eastwood film “Richard Jewell” which enjoyed its Georgia red carpet ceremony at the Rialto in December 2019.
