"You, Mr. Grey, with your rose-red youth and your rose-white boyhood, you have had passions that have made you afraid..." Dorian Grey is the most beautiful lad in town and the muse of painter Basil Hallward. Through Basil, Dorian meets Lord Henry Wotton and is enchanted by his hedonistic views of the world. He urges Dorian to "give form to every feeling, expression to every thought, reality to every dream," while he is still young and beautiful. Dorian makes a wish to trade his soul for eternal youth - and pays a terrible price.
