Puccini’s most popular opera, this immortal tale
depicts the tragic love affair between penniless
poet Rodolfo and his seamstress neighbor Mimi,
living in a community of young, bohemian
artists set in New Orleans post-Katrina.
First performed in 1896, it became the
inspiration for the Broadway musical, Rent,
winner of the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
and the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical.
Performed with the Columbus Symphony in
Italian with English surtitles.
