One of the quintessential tragedies in Italian opera with one classic "hit" after another, Verdi's score leaves us on the edge of our seats through every dramatic twist and turn. Trovatore famously features one of the most powerful quartet of roles in all of opera: Leonora, the noble lady-in-waiting; her beloved Manrico, the titular troubadour; his rival in love and war, Count di Luna; and Azucena, the woman with a dark secret and obsession for vengeance, which drives the story to its shocking conclusion.
