Apollo Chamber Players presents LIBERTY, featuring narration by George Takei, who shares his personal experience as a Japanese-American interned during World War II. The program highlights the promise and shortcomings of American democracy through world premieres by composers John Corigliano, Homayoun Sakhi, and Marty Regan, including a new work titled The Book of Names. This performance marks the beginning of the We the People series, aimed at exploring themes of democracy amid the backdrop of the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Joining Takei are the Apollo Chamber Players and countertenor John Holiday.
