Seeking 5 non-union performers for a 50-minute musical based on books by Ogden Nash to be performed at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Join Custard the Dragon along with his friends Ink, Blink, and Mustard as they embark on a musical journey, in which Custard - a most unlikely hero - finds the courage to rescue his beloved Belinda from a menacing pirate and a wicked knight! THE TALES OF CUSTARD THE DRAGON was originally produced at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. This production is made possible by support from the New York State Council on the Arts.

CUSTARD:
High baritone. A dragon, both cowardly and dear. Vulnerable.
BELINDA:
Disney soprano with a beautiful mix. A little girl with a big imagination. Angelic.
BLINK:
High baritone. A mouse with a lion’s personality. Slick and tough Newsies-type. Doubles as a wicked, operatic knight.
INK:
Soprano. A worldly-wise cat. Classy and coy.
MUSTARD:
High baritone. Not the brightest dog. Bold but bumbling. Doubles as a cartoony pirate.
