The LTN education committee will kick off its monthly workshop series with a Zoom performance of #WhileBlack from a young talent, Kayla Scott, an award winning playwright. Members of our community will read the script on Saturday, October 24 from 11am 1pm for interested audience members. There will be a discussion with the playwright after the performance. This workshop is in partnership with Booker T. Washington High School performing arts. #WhileBlack is a play inspired by Scotts experience dealing with racial profiling and gentrification within her own community. The story is about three black friends struggling with a white cafe manager while witnessing the changes in their neighborhood.
