In honor of Pride month, Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, is hosting a drink and draw event featuring Queer artists on June 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Poster House, 119 West 23rd Street in Manhattan.  Tickets are $40 and can be purchased HERE. Drinks and materials will be provided.

This Drink and Draw event offers a unique twist on traditional drawing sessions. Instead of strictly instructing the attendees, local queer artists Freddie Chavda and Paige will be posing and sharing their personal stories while participants sketch them. The session will kick off with short warm-up poses before progressing to four 10-minute poses, during which the artists will cover topics such as technique, style, community, and inspiration from a queer perspective.

Freddie Chavda is a talented collage artist known for his innovative work. He is the founder of The Brooklyn Loft, a vibrant art and workshop studio located in Bushwick. Through his art, Freddie aims to cultivate a sense of belonging and connection within the LGBTQ+ and artist communities, creating meaningful experiences and fostering a strong sense of community.

Paige (she/they) is a type designer and graphic activist based in her native Brooklyn, New York. Their art is heavily influenced by their experiences as a person of color, volunteer work with nonprofits, and relationship to the LGBTQ+ community.

All skill levels are encouraged to join this special session. Additionally, members can get tickets at a reduced rate by entering their email address in the promo-code section during checkout.
