“Duty Free Live! Unauthorized Imported Game Shows!” is a comedy show bringing international game show formats to (unauthorized) life by New York’s best comedians. Led by Kent Morita, Grant Mulitz, and Christopher Morucci the show will be an unauthorized localized production of segments from two smash-hit international game shows, “Unbelievable Truth” and “Don’t Knock It Till You Try It”, from the UK and Japan respectively. “The Unbelievable Truth” is an award-winning British comedy panel show on BBC Radio 4 hosted by David Mitchell. Comedians will each read a short lecture they've written about a given subject, which is entirely made up except for five true facts, which they must attempt to smuggle past the other players as sneakily as possible. The rest of the panel must guess, in real time, which facts are the real ones. "Tunnels No Minasan No Okagedeshita" (Tunnels' Thanks to Everyone!) was a Japanese gameshow hosted by Tunnels, a legendary Japanese comedy duo. We are adapting a specific segment from that show called "Kuwazu Girai" (Don't Knock It Till You Try It). Each of our guests will eat 3 dishes that they claim they love...but one of them is a dish that disgusts them. Each contestant will be doing their best to hide their disgust from the audience and the other contestants, while being asked tough questions that only a person who actually likes the dish should be able to answer without hesitation. Our Players: Aarushi Agni (Weak & the Knees, BoogieManja), Chandler Dean (West Wing Writers, Lovett or Leave It, The New Yorker, The New York Times), Meredith Dietz (The Onion, Reductress), Tom Buffalo Powers (Yes Chef, UCB, BoogieManja), Zola Ray (The Onion, Reductress)
