Created by Sean Dorsey, a ground-breaking choreographer recently named by American Theatre as one of 20 theater makers to watch, The Missing Generation is performed by a multi-generational ensemble whose lush dancing and eloquent gestures create an intimate tribute to LGBTQ histories. The personal accounts of long-time survivors of the early AIDS epidemic reveal remarkable stories—and document the massive loss—of gay and transgender people in the 1980s and 1990s. These voices are powerfully woven into The Missing Generation, a work of breath-taking dance-theater and a love letter to a forgotten generation.
Made possible in part with support from the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
