Sweet Tea Shakespeare’s seventh summer of outdoor theatre will feature two genre-defying maritime marvels: Pericles and The Tempest, performed in repertory.
The Tempest tells the story of a family divided by jealousy and ambition and reunited by love and forgiveness on a magical island. Storms, spirits, and schemes make The Tempest a spellbinding adventure.
Pericles is an exciting, fast-paced story of love lost and regained. Featuring princesses and pageants, pirates and goddesses, tempests and shipwrecks, Pericles promises to keep audiences transfixed.
The Tempest is directed by Jeremy Fiebig; Pericles is directed by Jeremy Fiebig and Jessica Schiermeister. Jacob French is music director for both productions.
The Tempest and Pericles will be performed in repertory June 5-17 in the garden of the 1897 Poe House (801 Arsenal Avenue, Fayetteville) and June 18-21 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (1601 Raeford Road, Fayetteville). All shows start at 7:30 and are preceded by our musical preshow, What You Will, beginning at 6:45. Food from Blackstone Smokehouse will be available for purchase, as will beer and wine.
