The Forester presents the life and achievements of Dr. Carroll B. Williams, Jr., the first African American scientist hired by the Forest Service. Narrated by the pine trees he studied, the play reveals Williams' struggles and accomplishments while shedding light on overlooked histories of Black and Indigenous contributions to ecology. Written by P.C. Verrone, this production is part of the Ensemble Studio Theatre's initiative to explore science and technology through theater. The performance will run as part of the Fall 2024 First Light Festival.
