Everything is bigger in Texas. For the late Texas politician Ann Richards, that maxim held true not only for her huge character and heart, but also her wit and hairdo. Now, ANN: An Affectionate Portrait of Ann Richards, with Emmy Award–winning stage and screen actress Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men), brings audiences a hilarious and touching evening celebrating this beloved daughter of Texas. Taylor wrote the play as a way of sharing what it was about the down-home woman--housewife, mother, grandmother, and Governor of Texas--that affected so many people so deeply.

A veteran of the stage, Hollywood, and television whom the New Yorker called "the first vaudeville Gentile we ever saw," Holland Taylor painstakingly resurrects Richard's mannerisms and appearance. The San Antonio Express raved, "It was as if Ann, with her silver helmet of hair, gleaming white suit, and strong swagger, were suddenly raised from the dead." More than that, Taylor brings to life Ann's wit to tell this heartfelt story of a personal hero in her own sharp words.
