From its thunderous opening to fiery finale, this formidable work is a brilliant showcase for Wang’s “impeccable technique” and “edgy, kind of naughty personality” (The New York Times). On the podium, young Finnish prodigy Tarmo Peltokoski makes a smashing debut conducting a masterpiece by his fellow countryman: Sibelius’ lushly romantic Symphony No. 1.
